Right, the forum is in trouble again because the number of messages in the database is too massive again.
Suggestions for deletions from this board should be posted in this thread, preferably with a relevant description. Do not nominate threads of archival value. Threads will be deleted after 24 hours unless there are objections, which I will then consider.

This is basically just comments and there is a fuller thread ahead.

I'm a PJ O'Rourke fan, but this dated and still pretty much of the same thing on numerous other threads.

I have deleted a number of those.
I tend not to delete threads with actual valid content in them, even those without replies. I'll think this over, talk to Dave and get back to you on this. I have in the past, and continue to delete threads that are just links to news articles.
Because of the sheer volume of phnkrocket threads about Iraq, I have merged them all into one thread. I have been lead to understand that this does help the server, whilst at the same time preserving phnkrocket's contributions.

Both you and Lewis need to justify such a juvenile suggestion.
The fact is that Dave has asked us to reduce the size of the database due to the sheer volume slowing the forum down.
I do my level best to ensure that only threads of non-archival value are deleted. To date, I am not aware of having gotten rid of any actual substantive discussion, and I will strive to continue to maintain this standard.
If you wish to severely restrict the long-term future of the forum, that is your choice, but I certainly intend to fight for it in the best way that I can.

The thread entitled:
Should Bush invade South Korea for conducting stem cell research?
Started by phnkrocket1
has been deleted for being simply non-conducive to coherent debate.
I am generally very lenient about how this is defined, often giving maximum benefit of the doubt - however, under any definition, the thread was trollish in nature and was therefore deleted.

I don't have a problem with that! You technically CANNOT be anti-"Hispanic" It's not a race. You can be all white, but if ou're born in a Spanish-speaking country or have a Spanish name, You're hispanic! So there!

I know what you mean. The US Census Bureau is always clear to point out that Hispanic/Latino is not a race.

OK, you should have told me, so as to not assume that you thought Hispanic was a race.
My point in the beginning, was that some anti-somethings are looked down upon more than others. For example, an Anti-gay or an anti-semite is looked lower upon than an anti-muslim

I don't know if this is just for the International section of the forum or the forum in its entirety but might I suggest deleting threads that are nothing but a single poster replying endlessly to themselves? This endless spamming and bumping of ones own threads is polluting the economics forum.

This thread might be deleted:
http://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=168147.0
It just includes the message of the German CDU having lost the Lower Saxony State elections, and replies referring the poster to the related extensive discussion in the "International Elections" board.
