Colemans wife charged with DWI:

BEXLEY, Ohio (AP) — The wife of Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman, a Democrat running for governor in 2006, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated Thursday night, authorities said.

Frankie Coleman hit a parked pickup about 9 p.m. in this Columbus suburb, police said. No one else was in her car.

Officers who arrived on the scene said the mayor's wife had "an odor of alcohol about her," said Bexley Police Sgt. Robert Cull.

Coleman failed a field sobriety test, Cull said. A blood-alcohol test given to Coleman at the Bexley police station measured .271 — more than three times the legal limit of .08, Cull said...

Actually there are two Ohio Republican parties.

The one represented by Taft, Dewine and Voinovich (Rockefeller types) and the majority (conservatives).

Voinovich is one of the few I can stomach.  He is actually more of a populist Republican.  Despite his anti-choice views, I think he is a decent Senator.

strickland is going to lose.

populism is a non-starter in suburbia.  i doubt it will play well in the exploding exurbs of the columbus area.

The funny thing is, Strickland even won every county in the Columbus area except for Union.

No, no it (and he) won't. But he doesn't need to worry about them.

He just needs to poll well in the areas that voted for Kerry while polling well in Eastern Ohio.

Wow.
