Abolition of Discrimination in the Military Bill

1.The Armed Forces of Atlasia shall not prevent from enlisting, punish, discharge, or discriminate against individuals on the grounds of sexual orientation.

2. Any person discharged from the Armed Forces on the grounds of sexual orientation shall be permitted to re-enlist, if otherwise eligible.

I'm fine with this bill as is.  How about a clause also apoligizing to those who were kicked out?

I would say that that would probably be unnecessary and not really meaningful, given that we would be apologizing for the actions of someone else.  I think that section 2 is enough.

I'll support this (minus True Dems apology amendment) but still think the "don't ask don't tell" policy is fine the way it is.

Under "don't ask, don't tell," someone can stay in the military as long as no one finds out his sexual orientation. But if this information is revealed, that person will be kicked out. I don't believe that such a policy is acceptable.
