That looks pretty good, but Preston probably could pull out more of the South (AL, MS, TN, GA, SC and probably OK as well)

A moderate populist vs. a cynical liberal (classical) Republican.  Waltermitty simply wouldn't have a base.   He would come off as elitist and lose all of the South and parts of the Great Plains and would lose most of the traditionally Democratic areas because, well, he is right leaning.

Sorry Mitty I am a union guy and while I like you on social issues and views on sex, I simply can't bring myself to vote for you.  I also can't bring myself to vote for Kramer either.  Kramer is simply too much of a theocrat.  Write-in: Akno21, Nym90, Smash255

Of course mitty is more the democrat and Prude Kramer the republican in ideological terms, but here's a map:

My wild guess is an electoral map that looks like 1976.

Then again, I've heard many of you characterize North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma as populist even though you also characterize Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado as libertarian.  Funny how these states almost always vote for the same candidate (usually Republican, except for 1964 when they all voted for LBJ).

In this case, I'd expect something like:

Cosmo Kramer wins with 326 electoral votes.  The battleground states would be Utah, Illinois, Minnesota, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Texas, and Florida.

Most of you seem to think that waltermitty would win North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, and even Kansas.  Aren't these states too socially conservative to vote for a LIBERAL Republican?  Short of rigged voting machines, how would Waltermitty win here?

A little thing called party loyalty.  I would say at least 60% of Republicans woud vote for the Republican no matter who they put up.  The same is true with Democrats.  I think the race would look something like this:

Labor unions and high taxes are not popular in the South. Utah goes Republican because Kramer is a lunatic who wants to take over the world.
