I would hold my nose and vote for Bono, though Preston would win.

Preston/Preston, much less extreme than Bono. Bono's opposite would be a communist, not a populist.

You do realize I'm ideologically about twice as close to you than Bono, and that I would as President focus on economics, which we agree on?

I will never vote for anyone who supports criminalizing private activity between consenting adults.

Preston/Preston. I think that he has been becoming more mature and supportive of individual rights over time, whereas the alternative is nothing short of an anarchist.

Oh, and he would win every state.

Well, this is a tough one. Normally, I would have chosen the libertarian in a hypothetical match-up like this. However, Bono would privatize law enforcement and the court system, which means that any protection of individual rights would become meaningless. Absolute anarchism is just as unfortunate as authoritarianism, I think.

Therefore, although his views on social and economic policy are very different from mine: Preston.

Keep in mind Bono couldn't get his more extreme views through Congress.

Bono could get lots of his economic agenda through Congress, though.

I realize the comparison may be inaccurate, but we've already had several Presidents just like Preston.  Whereas we've had nobody like Bono.  On that basis, I'd say that Preston would win.

As for who I'd presonally vote for - I'm undecided.

Well, as your PC score shows you are clearly an extremist libertarian Wink, it's obvious you would vote for Bono.

Bono/Preston.

Think 1976 with a large swing to Carter. Or maybe 1960, ignoring the blank slates and making a medium-large swing to JFK.

Preston, even though you may be a little closer to BRTD, I remember him saying that economics is a main field of concern for him, but in order to choose someone, they must first pass a social litmis test.  It's probably why he said Bono.

I'm pretty sure that Bono would abolish Congress and other government institutions in some sort of quasi-revolution to install anarchy, sort of like a Marxist revolution, but just to a different ends.

Preston/Preston

Preston/Preston. Mainstream populist vs paleo-libertarian - no contest for my vote

I doubt the result would be a total blow-out for either candidate but Preston would win comfortably
