I think he's a Republican.  He's obviously big on defense, and I think that they decided to make a good guy Republican to offset Kinsey (who seems like a Republican, as he was opposed to the Stargate program because of fiscal concerns.)

Possibly.  Hammond would definitely have been a Republican, but a moderate one.  O'Neill would probably have been a Democrat or an Independent, primarily due to his laid-back, careless additude towards things.

I don't know about O'Neil.  He kinda seems like a Libertarian Republican, because he has a big thing with guns.

Kinsey was clearly menat to be a defense contract corrupted Republican.

Kinsey was Hayes VP until forced to resign.

Hayes therefore is a Republican.

Hayes used to be in the military. My brother remembers something from The Lost City part 1. Hayes said something to Hammond like "the last time I saw you were a lieutenant." And Hammond said so were you.

And in The Lost City part 2, when Anubis was getting ready to attack earth and gave the U.S. a chance to surrender, Hayes offered to let Anubis surrender first. Must have been his gun-ho military attitude. Tongue

I would vote Republican.

Alright, since it seems so far that everyone agrees that Hayes is a Republican (I knew everyone would, it's pretty obvious,) what about Senator Fisher?

I again believe that he is a Republican.  He wanted to build more deleus class ships, and stressed defending the planet.  But then again, he did want to cut the budget of SGC.
