Pardon my ignorance, but how could 105% of the registered voters have voted?

People can register on the date of the election, I would imagine. They don't count as being registered though, and that's how you get more voters than registered.

People can't register the day of the election in Wyoming.  More people voted than were registered.  Wyoming just needs to get their election system, and their act, together.  Being uncompetitive at the Presidential level is not an excuse.

I remember reading in the Times that thousands of dead people voted in New Jersey.  Just one of those things, you know? Smiley

Well, you have to consider that a good number of those people could have easily been shot on the way home.  This is New Jersey after all.

Incorrect, Alcon. They were probably shot in the voting booth by some member of the Mafia.

Wyoming registration statistics. See footnote.

A curiousity, is that Wyoming is not subject to the so-called "motor voter" law.  Perhaps the two are related.  If you don't have to register in advance, there is no reason to have the state agencies distribute registration material.

"This was possible because Wyoming state statute allows voters to register and vote at the polls on General Election Day."

?!

This is the first I've ever heard of Wyoming having this law, and why any state with this law would report turnout is beyond me...

This is, I believe, the first time Wyoming has even approached 100% turnout, let alone exceeded it.  It this a new law?
