My Notes

-Arnold is done.
-Blagojevic is done.
-Granholm may very well lose against a poor candidate in DeVos
-Doyle and Rendell are in the same boat politically...analyze it every which way and you'll see what I mean.
-Hoeven is worshiped...goodbye to the ND senate seat in 2006.
-Too bad Warner can't run for re-election.  That really sucks.
-Manchin, Schweitzer, and Easley are potential national players, especially the last two.

That's all for now.

I think Rendell is in slightly better shape than Doyle simply by virtue of the fact that he is a more charismatic politician and has the potential to gain more through the course of a campaign, regardless of his popularity now.

Schweitzer pretty clearly has national ambitions; I really haven't heard much about the other two you mention.

I don't think Granholm will lose to such a weak Republican field.  She's had low approval for a while now, but is still well ahead in the horse race polls.

And obviously Hoeven won't win if he doesn't run.

Either there's a lot of love in Dixie right now or SUSA blew up down there

This is what one might call the hurricane bounce (TX, AL and MS less so).

Of course, I am sure plenty of people are still not in their homes and that might affect it as well (who knows?).  Of those, the one I would really trust is Texas, honestly.

Right now, I wouldn't trust any poll out of Louisiana, period.

That was clearly the 1-in-20 one where they got way off and Rendell actually has a 70% approval rating. Tongue

Well, I love Eddie, but I dare I say he is getting a bit DINOish and is losing support among liberals and it shows in the poll.  I still approve of him, but not by much.  I would gladly vote for him over stupid Swann or Scranton in a heartbeat though, but this is not much of a rallying support for Eddie.

Looks like SUSA blew up in a lot of places.  I love Pawlenty, but I doubt he is +17.  +6 maybe.

If this poll is even half true, though, I can think of no better reason to have Pawlenty at the top of the ticket in '08.
