Aye, although I expect this to fail as well.

Aye, although I expect this to fail as well.

Thanks for supporting my Forum Affairs bills, even though we both know they will fail.

I'd just like to say that my amendment was never voted on.

Sorry, cut and paste mistake. Corrected.

Sens. Master Jedi and Ebowed, please excuse my error and review your votes.

Abstain.  While I agree with the spirit, there is no need to legislate this

That was my feeling as well.

Nay, for the reasons Defarge gave.  I feel that this bill would tell our future SoFAs that we don't trust them to know how to do their job, and I don't think that's being fair to them.

If Ebowed',s vote is correct:

Aye-1
Nay-4
Abstain-1

So if there's one more Nay vote this amendment will fail.

Four against out of seven possible votes is now enough for this bill to fail.

With 1 Aye, 4 Nays, and 2 Abstentions this amendment has gathered enough votes to be rejected by the Senate.

Three abstentions, actually (you, DanielX, and Defarge); only two would make there be eight possible votes.

Twenty-four hours having passed since the amendment failed, the question is on final passage of the bill:

All those in favor, say Aye; those opposed, say No.

Nay for now.  This strikes me as counter to the bill that made stating one's state of residence no longer a requirement.

Nay, for what Ebowed said.

(I do follow debate on these, but I usually choose to stay quite because what I want to say has laready been said or said better by another Senator. So don't think i purposely choose not to always open my mouth. Smiley )
