Well, Bush was blackmailing Blanco, so obviously the process was slower than if it had been a non expendable Republican governor.

Like I said, Brown received a lot of cooperation from Florida, while he did not from Louisiana.  That right there is a major difference between the responses.  Florida opened the door, allowed FEMA to do their work with little resistance, and people were helped.  It was not that fluid with Louisiana.

I think both responses should be examined so a national procedure is set up for all states to follow.

Well, Bush was blackmailing Blanco, so obviously the process was slower than if it had been a non expendable Republican governor.

How was Bush "blackmailing" Blanco?

This is all I'm going to say about Brown:

I saw Michael Brown responding to criticism from Representatives Gene Taylor (D-MS) and Rob Simmons (R-CT) and, frankly, if he'd spoken to me the way he spoke to them, I'd have went for the proverbial kill

He behaved atrociously towards elected representatives in a manner not befitting a former public offical. I'm sure the guy got a comfortable salary as FEMA Director and frankly if he can't take the heat he should never have been in the bloody kitchen. Who the hell does he think he is?

I was disgusted. Democrats, who mostly boycotted the hearing, may very well have good reason not to want to be party to it

In a related story, John Wilkes Booth was hired to investigate Lincoln's assassination.

Well JJ you must remember to put suicide note like this 'suicide note' when referring to Vince Foster. Sure the press said he 'comitted suicide' but we'll probably never know for sure.

Please everyone knows Hillary did it with a candlestick in the library.

First Monica with a cigar in the office, and now Killary with a candlestick in the library.  Kinky!
