We should probably use this to our advantage:

Light blue-1-4% approve.  Blue-5-9% approve.  Dark blue-10%+ approve.
Pink-1-4% disapprove.  Red-5-9% disapprove.  Maroon-10%+ disapprove.

What's with SD? That's looking odd.

I wish they would list their polling data.  Looking at Virginia:

Republican:     80% approve  20% disapprove
Democrat:         9% approve    90% disapprove
Independent:  32% approve  65% disapprove

Average:           40.33%           58.33%
Total:               40% approve  58% disapprove

I have a hard time believing there is a 3-way split equally between the three categories in Virginia.

According to the link, it's 32-32-35. Still, looks odd.

Yeah.  I don't buy it.  Maybe a 40-40-20 split or something would be more realistic.

Who cares?  It's not like the people of those states convinced Leahy and Chafee to vote against Roberts.

After all, this isn't Roberts' approval rating we're talking about.

Bush's approval only matters if it helps the Dems in '06, hurts Bush's legislative agenda, or forces Bush to moderate his Court picks.  It is now clear that number three is not an issue.  I also believe that numbers one and two aren't big issues either.

oh, but Mark Kennedy must be a shoo-in and the fact that he's ideologically a total Bush clone won't hurt him at all! [/sarcasm]

19% more disapprove. I am now even more proud of my state. Smiley

60% sounds way overblown.

Interesting that Louisiana is so high, and yet Blanco's ratings have plummeted.

The only thing on this list that matters is the Ohio and PA numbers.  It means DeWine and Santorum have to distance from Bush a little bit.  Nevertheless they both will win, but it will be a fight and a bit of a tightrope for them to walk.

Being a pit pessimistic about Democrats' chances are we?

Mind you I'm one to talk, I put money on the Tories winning the 1992 General Election and did rather canny out of it

The Rovian blame the locals effort didn't save Bush's ass there.
