It's not really a compromise if you flat-out don't want what you get; in that case, you have gotten essentially nothing, and the other guy has instead gotten what he wants.  It's only a compromise when both people are at least okay with the outcome.

It depends, but since it was a socialist who made the quote, no. But then again, if America were a socialist hellhole, I'd vote for any non-socialist party. So, basically, it varies.

    99.9% of the time this quote is true, but every great once in a while a time comes when you can vote for a good cause sure to lose or you can vote for the lesser of two evils and make a difference.  In these cases the answer is not so clear.
