A Legal Times profile of Harriet Miers upon her promotion from deputy chief of staff under Andy Card to White House counsel includes information not likely to show up on an official bio, among them:

She's nit-picky micromanager who failed upwards at the White House: "She failed in Card's office for two reasons," the [former White House] official says. "First, because she can't make a decision, and second, because she can't delegate, she can't let anything go. And having failed for those two reasons, they move her to be the counsel for the president, which requires exactly those two talents."

Not even the president can think of much interesting to say about her: In 1996, at an Anti-Defamation League Jurisprudence Award ceremony, Bush introduced Miers as a "pit bull in Size 6 shoes," a tag line that has persisted through the years, in part because colorful anecdotes or descriptions about Miers are notoriously difficult to find.

Here is a list of her campaign contributions.
http://www.newsmeat.com/washington_political_donations/Harriet_Miers.php

I have received word from a reliable source that the "Exodus Ministries" mentioned by President Bush in his speech nominating White House Counsel Harriet Miers to serve as an Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court is not Exodus International -- which has the tag line "Freedom from homosexuality through the healing power of Jesus Christ."

Instead, it would most likely appear to have been a reference to this Dallas-based Exodus Ministries, which "seeks to encourage ex-offenders, to reunite them with their families, and to empower them to become self-sustaining, productive, Christ-centered members of society."

If she cant make a decision and she cant delegate how can she be appropriate for a judge.

"... not making a judgement ..." and "crony" in the same though.  Hmmmm . . . sounds like you're already on the path of making a judgement.  Added to the fact that this is in response in a thread of your own slamming a woman, I think we know how you will end up siding on this.

i am happy that hes picked a woman. instinctively i said straight away another bush crony. Then a 60 year old woman who has no children, no partenr but has a twinkle in her eye (someone put it there). I have a moderate friend i know in missouri who has met her and she says shes a die hard moderate. I just want a reduction of legislation affecting our rights to die.

The orgeon case will be interesting to see how roberts goes. I am more uneasy about roberts than miers. miers may appear to be a moderate but they dont exist in the bush administration.

I thought you were from York or Lancaster Counties considerring your views. But Butler County is another PA county that lies on the extreme of typical Pennsylvanian stances. How does it feel to live in a moderate democrat state that hasnt voted nationally for a republican since 1988.

But living in Butler probably makes you think that your just a typical republican. Maybe you should visit Allegeny more often - or is that the capital of liberal extremism?

Butler's actual a fairly moderate area, certainly not as conservative as the "T" or as liberal as Montco or Center City. You're a clueless ass BTW

What a brilliant analysis.  Bush should have had you on the search committee.

Butlers a fairly moderate area?

2004 county results
Bush = 54,969 = 64.3%
Kerry = 30,090 = 35.2%

Armstrong
Bush = 18,925 = 60.9%
Kerry = 12,025 = 38.7%

Clarion
Bush = 11,063 = 64.4%
Kerry = 6,049 = 35.2%

Vernango
Bush = 14,472 = 61.2%
Kerry = 9,024 = 38.1%

Pennslyvania results
Kerry =2,938,095 = 50.92%
Bush = 2,793,847 = 48.42%

So you live in a county that is 16 pts to the right than what normal pennslyvanians think. How many of the 87 counties are further right than Butler? 19 i think.

When was the last time the democrats won Butler county natinonally? 1964. that was the same year the democrats won south dakota.

In 1992, Butler was to the left of the state.  Just depends on the Candidates.

Butler
Clinton:  36.5%
Bush:  38.7%
Perot:  24.6%

PA
Clinton:  45.15%
Bush:  36.13%
Perot:  18.2%

But he still didnt win the county. If you look at the democrat counties, that where clintons swing nationally comes from. Allegheny clinton won by some 150,000 votes unheard of today.

It just shows that the county is more moderate.

Bulter County, which boarders Allegheny County in the north, is far from a bedrock conservative county.
