Jfern and Jake are both commendable in that they are not President Bush's lapdog.

Don, you object to their disliking of President Bush and then say things that imply that you consider everything Bush does sacrosanct and would never, ever leave the Republican Party.  So, they don't have the right to insult the President?

Don's diary tonight:

October 3rd

My lord and savior President Bush royally screwed me over today and nominated his lawyer to be the next Supreme Court justice. That's alright though, his minions at the RNC says she has a history of fairly applying the law. Now, she's never actually even served as a judge, and as recently as a few years ago she was running a state lottery. It doesn't matter though because Bush (kneels to bless himself) says she will not be an activist judge. Heck, I love her already.

His "minions at the RNC"?  What are you still doing around here.  Your friends at DU are waiting for you.

I guess you aren't even Republican enough to get e-mails from Bush's former campaign manager, White House Policy director, Texas congressional aide, and current RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman. If that is complete ownership, I don't know what is.

Huh?  I got the e-mail on two accounts actually and was happy to see the RNC acting quickly.  I was refering to your use of the term "minion", which is traditionally used in a derrogatory manner similar to the communications of Moveon, DailyKos, DU, etc. in relation to our President.

Gillespie annoys me a little bit, but I'm a big fan of Mehlman.  He has made outreaching to African-Americans a key priority of the RNC.

Don,

You have forgotten something very important.  Winning elections is not an end in itself, we won these elections so we could make the world a better place for ourselves and our children.

I am ashamed at the thought of this mediocre mind on the Supreme Court and this shameless display of cronyism in government.  You should be too.  I'm not a Republican because I'm too old to join the Boy Scouts, and I'm not a Republican because joining a book club would entail too much reading.  I'm not here to do group activities.  I'm here to change the world for the better.

"My country is more important than my party."
