A coalition of military organizations on Thursday gave Sens. Hillary Clinton and Lindsey Graham its highest honor for their work to expand access to health care for National Guard and Reserve members and their families.

Clinton, D-N.Y., said she was honored to have worked with Graham, R-S.C., on the bipartisan issue.

"It is a deep privilege to have a chance to serve and support our men and women in uniform, and to be recognized by an organization dedicated to the well-being of our troops and our veterans is a great honor," Clinton said. "Our men and women in uniform sacrifice so much to protect the freedoms that we enjoy, and we owe it to the them to give our full support while they are in uniform and after they retire from service."

For another social program? No, not hardly.

In the old days, one couldn't even get married until they were at least a sergeant or equivalent. Now we're to this point.

If she would take the lead in re-establishing the diminshed active forces her husband gets much of the 'credit' for, I might consider. But while people are making the same mistakes they made in the past by assuming, for example, that we have no peer enemy and therefore need less active folks in the military, I'm for witholding these kinds of awards.
