How much does checking the box after the question matter? I didn't check any of them - maybe that's why I'm slightly more moderate here?
Non-technical answer: it increases the contribution that that question has towards your overall score.
Technical answer: The effect that each question has on your score is as follows, if we let
n
be the total number of the type of question:
"Strongly Disagree": -8/
n
"Disagree": -4/
n
"Neutral": 0
"Agree": 4/
n
"Strongly Agree": 8/
n
(note: it's also multiplied by 1 or -1, depending on whether the question has a right or left slant to it.)
If you check the box that says that the issue is important to you, then the new effect is as follows:
"Strongly Disagree": -10/
n
"Disagree": -8/
n
"Neutral": 0
"Agree": 8/
n
"Strongly Agree": 10/
n

Your score pegs you as economically anarchocapitalist and socially .
Anarchocapitalists generally believe that the free market should be unregulated and laissez-faire in nature, with government either only intervening in extreme cases or never intervening at all. They also believe in significant reductions of government services.
Good enough. A pretty good test and probably better than the PC one.

Those are probably closer to the trust than the Compass scores.

-6 -6 "strongly libertarian"
While it is true that, on some, maybe even most, issues, I *am* strongly libertarian, I don't think I am on all issues and certainly not all economic issues and I answered the questions more the was a liberal would than a libertarian. Therefore, I would question the test's accuracy.
Again, it's blank. There should be something about economically. In this case, it would be "economically strongly liberal and socially strongly libertarian." This is a bug that just ends up making the sentence look odd.
Please ignore all non-numerical test results for now.
