How about:
Quote
Should the federal government establish English as our only national language?
Maybe, but I'm not sure how well that correlates to libertarian/authoritarian. Good suggestion, though - thanks.
Quote from: BRTD on October 15, 2005, 05:33:36 pm
How about "State and local governments should not be messing around with regulations on strip clubs"
Poorly phrased, minutia.
Quote from: BRTD on October 15, 2005, 05:33:36 pm
"There should be no restrictions on the times one can sell alcohol"
Actually not too bad, but way too slanted toward agree.
Quote from: BRTD on October 15, 2005, 05:33:36 pm
"Communism is "cool" "
Retarded and having nothing to do with actual political beliefs.
Quote from: BRTD on October 15, 2005, 05:33:36 pm
"Suburbia is a very boring, sterile and awful place to live"
Not even political, minutia, too slanted, pretty much anything that can possibly make a question crappy.

Thanks for your suggestions. I've tried to add many of these but I've run into problems:
- It's hard to make a stem cell research question that doesn't result in >60% people selecting the pro-research option.
- I don't really think cloning has become a partisan issue *yet*.
- Hate crimes is a possibility, although I'd have to phrase the question very well.
- Gun rights is a trait shared by some social libertarians and social conservatives alike, so it unfortunately doesn't track along with other things, so I intentionally discluded it.
- The War in Iraq is too specific and situational, rather than being general policy.
- I'm not sure what you mean by "mandatory English language classes for immigrants."
- School vouchers is a possibility.
I'm going to do a mass update when I get time.
As far as the ones where most people would lean a certain way, can't you make it where, for example on stem-cell research, a center-left answer would have a neutral effect on the score, a centrist answer have a small right-ward push or something to that effect?

The problem with that is that either it would make a perfect -10 impossible or the left answer would have to be much more extreme than centre-left.

I would love some more social questions to add, if anyone is willing to contribute them. I think the economic part is pat down, but atheists are scoring far too liberally on social issues.

Tort reform is another good addition. And DC statehood. Was euthanasia one? Coz if it wasn't, it should be.
