In an extension of my previous poll, which third party would you rather have governing on domestic matters?  And I think that most of us agree we would not have either when it comes to foreign policy, hence my exclusion of it.

And here are their platforms:

Green Party platform

Libertarian Party platform

Constitution Party platform

Libertarian, I guess.  They're the least wacky of the three.

Greens...

Green, over libertarian.  I have libertarian leanings, but the LP has absolutely scary ideas such as ending the public school system, disbanding most of the government via ending all taxation, etc.  If they were more moderate they'd be more palatable.

^^^^^^

I never would want the Constitution Party in charge. There'd be troops breaking into your house if you were gay, all non-Christians would be forced to convert, etc. (Okay, maybe I'm exagerating a bit Wink)

The Libertarian Party is too extreme, like Tweed said.

The Greens are way too liberal for me, but I would take them over the Democrats since they are a minor party. At least they would crack down on corporate corruption.

I could consider the Libertarians. I voted for the Constitution Party the last two elections as I felt they were the best choice available. For people who feel the Republicans have let them down, the Constitution Party is the only viable option. But there are people whom I sure share the same conservative values as the Constitution Party, but are turned off by it dedication to Christianity, people who are Muslim or Jewish for example. The Nevada State Chairwomen who is a Mormon recently resigned as she felt she was not welcome in the CP because she was a Mormon. I have also found one site that supported the CP that was Anti-Catholic, but have not seen it from the CP itself.

Most people who side with the Democrats are going to go for the Green Party and most the side with the Republics will go for the Libertarian and Constitution Parties.

None of them could be trusted to run a settlement with a population of three, let alone a country of hundreds of million...

Those are very good ideas Cheesy Wink

Anyway, definitely Libertarians, we could finally cut back on the enormous size of the government.

I really don't think these parties are any more or less insane than Democrats or Republicans, they just seem that way since they ant massive change.

Nope, they're insane. Tongue

Seen from my perspective, anyway, both major parties are closer to the center than these three minor parties are. All we need is a extreme communitarian party to complete the set. Grin

I think I trust the Libertarians the most.  I may not agree with their platform, but hey! They're better than those loony Greens. Tongue

I believe that the Libertarians would be great for this country by destroying unconstitutional legislation.  Unfortunately, their views on taxes and school would send us back to the state we were in under the Articles of Confederation (thats where the Constitarian Party differs).  Even with their setbacks they are still a far better choice over green, constitution, current democrats, and Bush.
