Bush Sr. was pro-choice before 1980. The only reason he became pro-life was that he became Reagan's VP and he wanted to appease the religious right for a Presidential run of his own eventually.

No. He was not. He disagreed with Reagan economically, not socially.

He disagreed with Reagan both economically and socially before 1980.

I think Bush Sr. would win Florida and the Outer South. Carter was very unpopular in 1980 and any scandal-free Republican would have done pretty well against him. Even Nixon won the Outer South in 1960 and 1968.
