You forgot me Wink But I wouldn't say I was mainstream, more Conservative Democrat, so no worries.

Considering her recent outbursts I don't think MissCatholic will pick up many votes.

I went with Dem Hawk among others

Because they haven't said the things about homosexuality you have.

In all honesty, this is a great poll, but people will not bother reading and just vote for the first name who springs to mind. Lets hope that as it's the weekend they'll manage to get through the lot!

Why exactly does that matter?

My views on homosexuality are in the mainstream if not on the center-left side.  I'm pro civil-union for gays, for example.

I must admit I turn off from a lot of otherwise sensible Dems when they indulge in a bit of gay bashing in the routine posts we seem to get on the subject. That is because they suddenly join the same sides as Killerpolo et all and it's kinda creepy!

Maybe it's just because it's halloween soon....

All homosexual groups and literary content and publications of that nature should be  banned from our schools.  I'll let the adults do what they want for the most part, but I won't tolerate them spreading their filth among our kids.

I don't think that is a radical statement.
Well you think wrong.

Not at all, but it's the word 'filth' that hits a sore point with me thats all. What's the 'filth' the technique they use or the subject matter itself: homosexuality?

I have a hard time saying that I'm in the mainstream of the Democratic Party, due to my intense dislike of numerous Democratic officials.

Someone should make a thread like this but just write in Right, Centre or Left of the party. Allows more scope for debate. I'd do it myself But I have no list to work from.

You could fit into the moderate wing of either party, but I think that you're closer to a Republican than a Democrat.  We'd love to have you in our party, man. Smiley

Nym was the only one on that list that came near what I believe the average national Democrat is.

I only voted for myself, however that is a big lie. Sorry to ruin your poll, Casey. Who were the other 7 to vote for me though?

I think the question should be, who isn't in the mainstream.

I would say I am the typical northeastern Democrat, but that is typically towards the left end of the party.  I voted for Nym

I think the best representation of the Democratic party on this board is Scoonie.
