We've had many posts on international members like myself and where we would live in America if we were Americans. Got me wondering, what country, county, city or whatever would you like to live in if you were British, and do they match your politics Smiley

Down towards Plymouth or Exeter. Not that I didn't like living in Surrey/Sussex and now Oxford, but I think its quite picturesque down there and the pace of life isn't so rushed.

London, clearly. I've been to hundreds of cities, but none of them top London.

Probably one of the more rural towns where some of my relatives are near, Burton On Trent.

Given my chosen career path in the high tech industry, I imagine that I'd likely need to be somewhere near London.

Some place near London, I suppose, but that's rather generic.

I know next to nothing about Britain, sadly.

Cushendall, the North of Ireland is a favorite.  The area around Loch Lomond in Scotland is also beautiful.  London is the best city in the U.k. that I have been to.

I liked Dulwich when I lived there, and I certainly wouldn't mind going back.

bugger, Daniel beat me to it.

If I had to live in Great britain proper, probably Bath. Close enough to London, and, I gather, rather charming.

London if I could afford it...Edinburgh is very nice. Glasgow or Manchester perhaps. Of course nowhere in Britain is acceptable weatherwise.
Actually, if the question is "If you were British, where would you want to live?", the answer is Frankfurt am Main. Tongue

Quite a lot of places. Where I live at the moment is quite nice actually. Next year I'll be moving to somewhere in Wales or Northern England (to narrow it down further; most likely South Wales or the West Riding of Yorkshire. I like hills so in both cases that should narrow it down further...)

Exactly, but replace it with 'not Britain' Smiley

It's just too...grey, wet, dirty, busy...it's got nice bits, but I have no real fondness for 'the mother country'.
