November will be the month when the remainder of the leaves fall and Bush's numbers begin to rise.
Bush will probably be able to stabilize his base, but I don't see where what he is doing will cause his numbers to rise significantly. At best Bush returns to the low 40s in his approval ratings by the end of the year. Depending on how the Alito nomination is handled in January, he might gain something then or he might lose. I don't think right now that the Dems will filibuster Alito, not unless something far more toxic comes out about him than what is currently out there.
