Who would win this election, assuming it was held tomorrow?

It'd be closer than most of you think-- Bush is sporting sub-40% approval ratings and his favorability ratings are at best comparable to that of Kennedy's.  I think we'd see party-line voting and low turnout, and a similar map to 2004 with Bush winning by a small margin.

Kennedy sweeps the northeast and West Coast.

And rightfully so.

Why 'rightfully'?  Bush is pretty much the right-wing equivalent of Ted Kennedy.  (Not necessarily on the issues but in background)

Uh, no. Bush did not get some girl killed.

No, but it easily could have happened; we all know Bush had drinking problems in the past.  I don't blame Bush or Kennedy for their mistakes 30 years ago, but since you bring that up, I have to point out the parallels.
