Thai food is certainly good(had it for the first time yesterday), but I don't know enough about the job market there or about other factors to make a decision. Don't know much about Camden either.

Most of Hampstead is full of snobbish ****'s and parts of St Pancras are still pretty grim... but overall Camden isn't a bad little borough.

There's nothing really that wrong with Camden. I've not really been to the Hampstead end of it, but presuming you are alright with a bit of noise at night, don't want to use a car and put good security on your residence, then you should be fine.

Uh, folks, I'm pretty sure he's talking about the crime-infested American city of Camden, New Jersey, not the British borough.

Yeah, but ours is nicer Tongue. Some of Hampstead is really nice and there are parts where the people aren't bad too. My great-aunt used to live on the Heath, why is it that every part of my family is rich except mine?

I would by far prefer Thailand to the most dangerous city in America (although, I suppose, it would depend on the specific place in Thailand).

Camden (only on the waterfront of course). The only semi-semi-semi-decent place in the city. That or the police station, and heck thats not even competely safe.

Camden is not the most dangerous city in America (Although its probably in the top 10). That distinction goes to East St. Louis, IL or Gary, IN. These rankings change every year, so maybe at one time Camden was the most dangerous.

And in regards to your avatar change Emsworth, have you really changed parties recently or were you always a Republican? (Just out of curiousity, I don't mean to be rude)

lol at the British responses to this thread, very funny.

I know next to nothing about that either.  I suspect there are jobs teaching english.

I would by far prefer Thailand to the most dangerous city in America (although, I suppose, it would depend on the specific place in Thailand).

There are no dangerous parts of Thailand in terms of normal crime, though the very small portion of the country that is infested with muslims is dangerous for other reasons.  However there are certainly many parts that might seem a bit boring - sort of like Mississippi or Nebraska in the US.
The muslim part is very small:

Camden...at least I could get decent food, plus as long as I have my rights under the 2nd Amendment, I have a pretty decent chance to not get killed.

Decent food?  What is your idea of decent food, you tasteless cretin?  A hamburger?

Thai food (in Thailand), is absolutely amazing stuff - fresh, healthy, delicately and intricately flavored.  Even the stuff one gets in $30/person restaurants in the US fails to meet the standard of $1 Thai street food.

You didn't know that Philly is right across the river? I live near the river but my area of NE Philly is across from some smaller towns. Right across from Center City (downtown Philly) is Camden.

Al,

Perhaps from the international perspective, but if you live in Philly, you surely do NOT think of Camden as a suburb. In fact, it's thought of as a different city, in a different state...which is true.

I said "technically" Wink
It's clearly not suburban though

That is true, it is not really suburbs I have problems with but suburban areas. For example I actually wouldn't mind living in Brooklyn Center, just north of Minneapolis, which is also technically a suburb, but as anyone who has been there can tell, is not suburban.
