Dubya seems to be a qualified nominee from what I've seen of him. A question or two and I'll be ready to vote in the affirmative.

1) What's your opinion on the situation in Columbia and its impact on Atlasia and the surrounding region?

2) Do you believe Atlasia can and should use its military to further our interests in the world?

1) In your opinion, what do you feel is necessary for a pre-emptive strike on a foreign nation?

2) What's more important-allies or satellites?

If you are talking about the Terrorist groups there, I believe we should combat terrorism wherever it may be.

2) Do you believe Atlasia can and should use its military to further our interests in the world?

I would like to ask for a clarification.  We should use our military to further our security interests, but as far as invading a country when an election doesn't go the way we want, no.

1) In your opinion, what do you feel is necessary for a pre-emptive strike on a foreign nation?

A serious, confirmed threat to the security of this nation or its allies, such as a WMD program, proven links to terrorists cells, or plans for an attack on this country.  In the last instance, I would recommend strategic air strikes on military installations within enemy territory, rather than a ground war, to knock out their capability to carry out the planned attack.

2) What's more important-allies or satellites?

Allies.  Allies can give us a thousand satellites (and things much more valuable,) but a satellite can't win us one ally.

Senators may now vote on the confirmation of Dubya as Secretary of Defense.

All those in favor, say Aye; those opposed, say No.

I have a few reservations on Dubya's nomination as he gave a brief answer to my second question. If he'd like to answer it in more depth, specifically concentrating on removing government's that work against our interests, I may consider changing my vote. For now,

Nay
