Bush won Manchester, Maine by 5 votes (0.31%) in 2004, with 803 votes (49.48%) to 798 (49.17%) for Kerry, 15 (0.92%) for Nader, 6 (0.37%) for the Greens' David Cobb and 1 vote (0.06%) for Libertarian Party nominee Michael Badnarik.  Manchester had last been carried by the Republican nominee for President in 1992, when George H.W. Bush received 36.74% of the vote to Clinton's 34.24%, Ross Perot's 28.67% and 0.35% for other candiates (consisting of four Libertarians and one supporter of Lenore Fulani of the "New Alliance" who, in spite of her general reputation as a marxist, briefly was working at least inderectly on the behalf of Pat Buchanan in 2000 during a fairly early stage of his quest for the Reform Party nomination in 1999 or early 2000, perhaps through some position in the Reform Party).  Clinton won handily here (with 51.15% to 35.17% for Dole to 11.75 for Perot to 1.93% for other candidates) in 1996, and Gore won here by 1.87% (48.16% to 46.29% for Bush, with Nader gathering 4.95% of the local vote) in 2000.  So Manchester, like Kennebec County as a whole, has swung toward the Republicans since 1996, but has not swung or trended Republican quite as strongly and actually "trended" .80% Democratic since 2000 when compared to the national swing.

Bernardsville was actually more Republican than Somerset as a whole - it was 61.2% Bush.  The county is moderated by Franklin.

New Haven, assuming that's where you are, was 79% Kerry, 18% Bush, so your guess wasn't too far off.

I think Kerry won it by about 2%. I can't believe it wasn't by more.
