adn is probably uncosntitutional according to current jurisprudence.

Not so:

"...1. To lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, but all duties, imposts and excises shall be uniform throughout the Regions of the Republic of Atlasia and the District of Columbia..."

At the very least it is not directly unconstitutional and as such the Court would have no power to strike down the law if it ever comes to court.

Not so, unless you have a very strange definition of social engineering.

That's not what I'm talking about.,
Special privileges probably will infringe current jurisprudnce on the equal protection clause.

I'm sure the court will accept that argument, just like it did your last one.

If the court would strike down this bill, the Senate would be forced to impeach all three of them.

This bill has my full support BTW.

In other words you are all in favour of a loose interpretation of the Constitution when doing so fits with your ideology?

No need for that line

Look, I have no idea whether this will actually pass or not. Can you save your threats of politically motivated litigation until after it passes, if it does?

Oh, I have no intention of challanging it, rest assured.
Sorry for "that line", btw.

The Ayes have Six, the Nays None. The Ayes have it, the Ayes have it.

Senators have a certain amount of time to change their votes.

A symbolic nay. If we do it just for these workers, we'll eventually have to do it for all jobs that are being threatened. There are better, more long term ways to support people in the kind of position this bill is attempting to support, and in a way that furthers our national economy.
