1) Washington
2) Reagan
3) Lincoln
4) Andrew Jackson
5) G.W.

You can't say Washington twice! Tongue

Here we go again...Once again, what the hell is up with Democrats and this crazy obsession with Kennedy?

He never did anything of value to this country during his presidency, unless you count the Peace Corps, funding the Space Program, and sending even more military advisers to Vietnam a lasting contribution.  In my opinion, he was all rhetoric and no walk.  And he doesn't get credit for averting the Cuban Missile Crisis.

AND AND he said "Why does Rice play Texas?" in his most famous speech LOLAZZ

FDR, Reagan, Polk, Jackson, and Truman

Coming from you, that's a pretty eclectic list.

They are the best and the fact that they may not share my full ideology hardly changes that.

Manifest Destiny was a one of the most hideous policies of US history.

I think Lincoln is great too, but almost everyone thinks he and Washington are great (they have their own holidays even) so I wanted to include someone less famous on my list.

And while I realize that Manifest Destiny was a tragedy for Native Americans, I still feel that it wasn't 100% bad. We'd still be a balkanized, not-as-powerful nation if we hadn't spread to the pacific.

And I agree with Virginian that Kennedy is overrated. Its b/c he was killed while he was still young and popular, like James Dean. If either had lived longer, people would have found flaws that everyone has once they've been in the spotlight too long.
