It's been automatic ever since the 14th amendment became law in 1868. These bozos think they can undo a constitutional amendment with a regular bill. Oh well, they control everything, and don't have to follow the Constitution, so they're probably right.

I agree with the Bozos.

Actually when the amendment was passed it was understood to not mean geographic location, i.e. the United States as an identifiable land mass.

It clearly referred to children born to people living legally in the US.

That does not seem to be the interpretation adopted by the Supreme Court in U.S. v. Wong Kim Ark. Considering the fact that it was decided very soon after the passage of the Fourteenth Amendment, the case informs us of the original meaning of the clause.
