I voted Atheist/Athiest, but on second thought if the Muslim were mostly in line with Republican values, it would be Atheist/Muslim.

More Americans would vote for a homosexual over an atheist, at least I saw that in a poll once.

Atheist/Atheist

Fundies believe that anyone who belongs to any religion other than Christanity or Judaism is actually worshipping the Devil (and while they believe Jews worship the real God, it doesn't matter because God doesn't listen to their prayers). Therefore, an atheist would be preferable to them as someone they consider a Satanist. There goes the GOP base.

More Americans would vote for a homosexual over an atheist, at least I saw that in a poll once.

Despite that, there are people on this form dumb enough to actually think I would lose to an atheist or Muslim Republican.

I'd like to see a detailed campaign platform for each candidate, please.

Yeah, why does everyone expect us to discriminate just cause the guys Muslim, or Atheist?  Unlike BRTD, I don't care what religion he is, I care about which direction he wishes to take America into.

A third-party Christian populist captures a big enough % of the vote to send the race to the house, with the Atheist Democrat receiving a narrow plurality of the EV and PV.

Assuming both candidates otherwise where stereotypical left/right.

Of course, we have no doubt already had several atheist presidents (certainly the more intelligent ones must have been so).  Hasn't it ever occured to you religious that politicians just mouth that cultist garbage to get elected?

I am a Democratic atheist, so pride would go a long way in deciding my vote.

So atheist/atheist

I'd lean towards the Republican, especially considering the godless trash running on the Democratic ticket.

Atheist / Muslim

America would vote Bin Laden over an atheist.

That poll does not show what you seem to think it shows.

Most of America does care, and most have already ruled out Muslim, Jew, Catholic, Gay, Evangelical Protestant, Atheist etc.

And given that both candidates in this match-up have one of those attributes each, I'm going to need something else to go on.  kthx

undecided* / Atheist.

*Seeing as it's likely not going to be close, I'd vote third party. Unless I really liked the Atheist, in which case some third party candidate is going to win anyways. Grin And if the Muslim's totally abandoned by the Rep base, and is a decent fellow, I might actually cast a sympathy vote for him. Grin

Then I would vote for the Muslim, because Republicans tend to be more tolerant in areas that effect me.  Yes, I know, I'm a self-centered prude Tongue

The Democrat would win in a landslide because

1) Muslim gets abandoned by 70% of the GOP base.
2) A good 80% of the Democrats support the Democrat.
