You are mixing "equal" and "same." Would you grant someone a place in a GT program simply because they are pregnant?

It's ok to place kids who learn faster in a GT program, because they're not the same as other kids; but if you wait until a woman gives birth to carry out her death sentence, it's a violation of equal rights?  No offense, I just don't see your logic here.

One argument I could understand is that because only women can get pregnant, such a bill provides a loophole for (fertile) women who have been sentenced to death.  While that's a valid point, I find it unimportant in the grand scheme of things (due to my view on the point at which life begins), so we would have to agree to disagree.

No on all.  What business is it of the federal government what a woman does with her own body?  Besides, they're all unconstitutional violations of the Right to Privacy.

LOL

Did you even read what the last one does?

Unless you think executing women while they're pregnant is an "unconstitutional violation of the Right to Privacy."

I don't think anyone should be executed by the State.  However, I find it irrelevant whether she is pregnant.

I think I'd be tempted to support the first one, but I'm not sure.  Last one is tricky since I oppose capital punishment.  If I understand it correctly I would support it as well, but then I'd likely support any bill that might decrease the number of executions.  There's one other that wouldn't ever come up because it tries to curtail interstate travel, which state legislatures can't do.  I think.  On all the others I'd vote against.

As a member of congress I'd vote against all of them except the last one.  You could argue over whether congress has the ability to deny states the right to execute anyone, and take it to the Supreme Court, but in the meantime maybe somebody would be spared from capital punishment.  Guess I'm sort of pro-Life, then.
