phknrocket1k -  You don't come across that way.  You appear to be practically a communist, and closest to nutcases like BRTD, opebo and Jfern.  Even Flyers is conservative compared to you.

My PC score is (-0.50, -5.51). Hardly communist, I'm only 2 points to the left of you on ecnomics and 7 on social issues.

I'm anti-Bush? Yes
Communist? No

Really can't think of one.  His poltics are moderate on everything.  He does take a full pro-life position which not many Americans take.

Abortion.

On a personal side, I'm still shocked that Flyers actually argued with his parents about wanting to bring one-night stands home to their house.  I find it pretty surprising that he'd even bring this issue up to his parents, rather than allowing them the dignity of a "don't ask, don't tell" policy.

I know this is off track, but I oppose late-term abortions except for health and mother's life.  I am far from migrendel on this.  My positions may seem extreme because of my background and the fact I have to stand my ground at lot harder than other pro-choicers.  The issue was actually brought up by my brother when I was discussing the possibilty of leaving home, which I am by March/April.

I'm not totally.  I just think that, if you're pro-life and believe abortion is murder, it doesn't make much sense to support it in the case of rape or incest.  Abortion really is not a major issue to me.

Back to nclib, affirmative action, I suppose?  But that is only relative to the other Forum members.

What's different about you is the aggressiveness with which you support abortion.  I tend to think that those supporting it should at least be a little reluctant and regretful about it, viewing it as a necessary evil, or maybe the best of bad options.

I can't think of an extreme position Alcon has, actually.

I know this should go to another thread, but I used to feel quite guilty about it and still do kind of because of my friend's situation where it was actually a MLAS issue.  However, I've personally seen too many families burdened by the mentality that "I'm Catholic and therefore pro-life" and the girl's parents sometimes force their daughters to go through with the pregnancy with an absent or bad father and the grandparents or aunts/uncles who are still in high school have the undue burden of taking care of kids that are not their own.  Abortion is a necessary evil, but in many cases it's just that- necessary!  Forgive me for saying this, but I also see this as a working class socioeconomic issue.

Of course, there are other options besides keeping an unwanted baby.  There's adoption, and of course there's birth control.
