Horrible horrible person.

Not only does he waste millions on his stupid pork and held the defense bill hostage with his ANWR provision, he threatened to try to remove aid for Katrina victims and reconstruction from the general bill if the ANWR provision was removed. He's a political terrorist and the worst senator to 49 states.

By far the worst senator serving today.   

He actually reminds me of a 5 year old.  When things dont go his way he throws a hissy fit and threatens to quit.  What a little bitch.

True, but Stevens is on a different level.  He's the biggest hypocrite in the senate.  He threatened to resign when Harkin attempted to attach a bird flu amendment to the defense bill.  Claiming the U.S. Senate has an unspoken rule regarding non-defense amendments being attached to the defense bill.  A couple months later what does Stevens do?  Attach ANWR drilling to the defense bill in the name of 'national security'.  When the measure failed.  He threatened to resign again.  The guy is a complete joke.

Look fellas, its 'sophisticated' to attack Members of Congress for their imperfections (they all have them), but most of them are pretty decent, well meaning folks. 

Stevens was infuriated in large part because there is a long time unwritten rule that when a States delegation is agreed on a project, and it does NOT take resources from other state(s), that other members do not oppose it.

As I am sure AKSaber can tell you, many Alaskans feel (with good reason) that liberals from the lower 48 regard Alaska as a colony to be ruled from Washington, DC.

Finally, opposition to the project is TOTALLY IRRESPONSIBLE!!!
