ILP Announcements
«
on:
January 09, 2006, 09:05:47 am »
Hey everyone, just one or two announcements.
Firstly, an endorsement vote is now open for the Mideast Gubernatorial election. To the best of my knowledge the declared candidates are 9iron, afleitch and Liberty. As far as I am aware Ben is the only declared candidate seeking the Lt. Governorship. Those wishing to discuss the relative merits of the candidates and who should get the ILP's endorsement should feel free to use this thread. The voting booth is
here
. The vote shall remain open until Thursday.
Secondly, under the ILP's rules our convention should probably open at the start of February. After the endorsement vote concludes, I shall open a vote on where the next convention should be held. Those wishing to suggest locations should also feel free to contribute them in this thread.
That's all, though members should feel free to raise any other business of relevance here or by PM to anyone on the leadership committee (Peter Bell, TCash and myself). Thanks.

Does anybody remember our previous convention sites? Or isn't as lazy as I and therefore perhaps willing to check?

In reverse chronological order (I think):
Baltimore, MA, Mideast
Lake Placid, NY, Northeast
Denver, CO, Midwest
Atlanta, GA, Southeast
Therefore I would especially welcome options within the Pacific region.

A reminder again that voting on the endorsement poll for the Mideast Governorship and Lt. Governorship will close tomorrow.
After that the poll on where our February convention will be held shall be put to a vote. The current nominations are:
Lewiston, Idaho
Seattle, Washington
Honolulu, Hawaii
Members are still free to debate the endorsements or to add further suggestions for the convention location for one more day.

Seattle is the best choice.
Lewiston isn't a real city, and it would cost too much money to get everyone to Honolulu.

The vote has now closed on the endorsements for the Mideast. The ILP formally endorses afleitch for governor and Ben for lt. governor.
Voting is now open on where to hold our upcoming convention,

Voting is now closed on choosing the convention location. The result means we shall convene in Lewiston, Idaho in February for our convention.

Wow, that blows. Only 30k live in Lewiston. We would have had Seattle, which has 550k+.

It could have been worse. It could have been Lewiston, Michigan instead.

Oh dear...Michigan...
Ernest's right.
What is there to do in Idaho anyway?

Skiing. Snowboarding. The snow has really been coming down hard and thick in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest, so you might as well take advantage of your location.

I was refering to its size of less than 1000 people rather than its location.
It's a nice little town where my paternal grandma grew up and where she and grandpa ended up being buried.
