We are in bizarro world.  Presidential elections still happen every four years, but the cycle is moved up two years starting in 1978.  Jimmy Carter is running for re-election two years early, when things aren't nearly as bad as in 1980.

Does Reagan still win the Republican nomination?  Is Carter as weak politically?  Is there still a primary challenge from Ted Kennedy?  Who wins?

The second in a series.
