I don't see any harm in women going topless in public but I think there is a time and a place for a bit of cleavage

I find it interesting how a social conservative would be against breastfeeding in public. Socons see motherhood as the natural role for every woman, yet for them to be offended by seeing breastfeeding is hypocritical.

Heck even in Saudi Arabia, women that need to breastfeed just pull out thier boob and do it.

There is something incredibly un-sexy about a teat with the unfortunate result of pleasures attached to it.  It also doesn't help to see it emerging from a creepy walking tent.  I would recommend they lop it off.

It's worth pointing out breasts aren't really considered have a sexual connotation in much of the world. Apparentely in parts of Central America, it's not uncommon to see peasant women working in the fields without their shirts on just like the men, and no one considers it to be a big deal at all (and they considered it quite odd that foreigners think it is). That said I still stand behind my licensing idea.

Personally, it wouldn't bother me -even if the woman in question doesn't exactly meet up to BRTD, Flyers, or Opebo's 'standards'.

So option 1...of course, if they are walking into a store or restaraunt, they will have to abide by whatever restrictions the property owner places on them.

Well, to be honest, if people are in favour of allowing toplessness, either all women should be allowed to be topless in public for purposes other than breastfeeding, or no women should. Licensing is discriminatory and subjective anyway.

No.  Like it or not, a woman being topless is a 'sexual connotation' in America.  Whether its that way in Pakistan or Colombia, I could care less.

Who defines ugly? Does the Select Committee on Public Nudity review each woman's breasts and vote hot or ugly?

Indeed. Each woman that wants to apply for a Topless Permit will have to appear before the committee and be subjected to a "aye" or "nay" vote from the nine members.

An up or down vote I take it, but indicated with a body part other than a thumb? Wink

Option 1 but allow business owners to impose restrictions if need be.

It should certainly be legal to appear topless on one's own property, or on someone else's property with the owner's consent, even if one can be seen by the public.

Should it be legal to blast music at night while other people are trying to sleep?

No, but there is a difference between the two cases. Loud music has a tendency to disturb and annoy other people, but failing to wear a shirt does not. Moreover, one can very simply avert one's eyes, but one cannot really avert one's ears.

In more general terms: failing to wear clothing does not serve to coerce anyone else; therefore, it should be legal.

Nudity does tend to disturb people, which is why it's outlawed in the first place.

I suppose one could wear ear plugs if he does not like the music.

Nudity disturbs people to the same extent that expressing an unpopular opinion disturbs people. Loud music tends to produce a much more substantive disturbance.

Well, wearing ear plugs requires more effort than not looking towards a particular area.

This poll shows what happens when you ask a bunch of adolecents if they want to see naked women walking around. Tongue

option one.  I mean, where's the harm (you prudes).  I mean David S said that it's something you'd have to get used to (no doubt).  But I say since the Constitution doesn't explicitly forbid it and it doesn't harm anyone/anything then it should be legal.

No, it sickens people, much like dumping garbage next to your lawn.
