I did not know Bush had arms that spanned an aircraft carrier.

I do not think the mission accomplished sign was a good idea because we should have known that the aftermath was going to be the hardest part.

Bush didn't actually hang it.  Why would I expect you to get your facts straight, BRTD.

He was foolish to allow himself to be photographed under it.

Well, the mission as in major combat was over so I voted that it should have been up there but seeing as our mission is longer than just major combat, they should have thought it through a little longer. I stick with my vote though since the banner really doesn't offend me. What offends me is when people attack the President and say that he said that the war was over which he is not the case.

The arrogants simply understimated the brave Resistance.  Hubris is my favorite!

No- that sort of banner and statement belongs in an action film, not in a real life ongoing war.

As has already been discussed at LENGTH, this banner was not hung by any member of the Bush administration. It was hung by the officers and crew of the aircraft carrier. Get it right.

While the question could have been worded better, (Should the "mission accomplished" banner have been hung?) I believe whoever hung shouldnt have.

The banner was up anyway, because the crew in celebration.  It had nothing to do with Bush.

Instead of swearing at him (which you've already done three times now), would you actually care to prove it?

Why is the burden of proof on me to prove the opposite of that that the Bush adminstration was not involved in integral part of a major Bush photo op? I didn't make that unreasonable claim, someone else did.

It's a simple request.  It always helps to prove your points.

So only Democrats need to prove their points?

The burden of proof is always on the positive.  Just because the statement "God does not exist" cannot be proven does not mean it is not true, and just because the statement "the Bush administration were not involved in the hanging of the 'Mission Accomplished' sign" cannot be proven, does not mean that they were.

For the record, the "Mission Accomplished" sign was for the troops on board the aircraft carrier, because they were returning home. However, Bush did as any politician would- he took the opportunity for a great photo op.
