Who would you vote for?

According to www.issues2000.org all three are defined as Libertarian-leaning Conservatives with:

Blunt scoring 33% on Personal Issues and 80% on Economic

Boehmer scoring 40% on Personal Issues and 75% on Economic

Shadegg scoring 40% on Personal Issues and 83% on Economic

Both Boehmer and Shadegg are closer to me on Personal issues than Blunt but while all are well removed from me economically, Boehmer is closest to me so I'd guess I'd vote him

Blunt is an extremely curropt DeLay lackey. He was listed as one of the most curropt 13 or so members of Congress before he took over this job.

Their methodology is indeed fairly crappy...questions are weighted quite differently. Arnold is quite centrist for a Republican nationally, and is thrown over to just left of center on both axes by crappy weighting in this test.

As things stand right now, Blunt is leading, Shadegg is coming up fast and Boehmer is falling fast.

The thing is they use candidate quotes, which is useless for liars like Arnold.  He was against gay marriage before he was for it before he was against it.

They have him down as against it but for civil unions and adoption rights.
But of course, (independently of "liars"), using candidate quotes for people who aren't raving lunatics or principled, conscientious, isolated extremists, ie for approximately 90% of the population, 85% of Congress and 99% of Governors, is worthless because the editors of the site can really make the results to be whatever they want them to be by chosing and weighting quotes selectively - I certainly don't use ontheissues ratings for anything.

What was strange is something relating to Michael Badnarik. As a Libertarian, he favors legal abortion, but opposes tax payer funded abortions. So on a 10 point scale (based on his quotes) he got like an 8 out of 10 on abortion which affected his social score even though this part was completely an economic issue.

Liberals and Conservatives disagree on the issues, but they are agree ontheissues.org (same as issues2000.org) is crap.

For what that site is worth, there's a hell of lot of Republicans who are "Libertarian-leaning Conservatives" and a lot of Democrats, who are "Populist-leaning Liberals"

Of course, such descriptions are "theoretical" Though I think it defines me pretty well

I wish David Dreier would run (assuming the RINOs and centrists aren't going to run ala Shays).  I guess Boehner of the 3 horrible choices.

Shadegg with Boehner as my second choice. Too bad he probably won't win.

Shadegg is picking up an average of two to three votes per day.

Boehner is toast.

Blunt does not now have the votes.

A week ago I thought Blunt was a shoo in.

Now, Shadegg is a real possibility.

I'm currently leading towards Boehner as the one I would like to see as the GOP leader.

Think he'll do very well.

Why?

Aside from opposing any realistic efforts to reduce illegal immigration, don't know anything Boehner supports/opposses which differs from Blunt.

It's not his positions which I'm looking at, but rather his ability to communicate and work with people, plus his camera appeal.  His positions would have to be put to the side as the GOP majority leader since he would be working as the voice of the President in Congress.

Uh, what you mean is that he wants to surrender to Nancy Pelosi and the nut cases.

He will be the first candidate to be eliminated (assuming he doesn't try to avoid being embarrased by dropping out of the race).
