Enjoyed it Erasurehead.  I guess Comets on Fire is a bit in this vein as well, which rejectamenta has led us down.

Josef K - Adoration (1981)
Comets on Fire - Sour Smoke
Momus - Adoration (Josef K cover)

"Miracles" - Jefferson Starship

This song played on the radio just as the results started coming in from the WI Supreme Court race and I had it stuck in my head the whole night.

Ooh, I like these both a lot. I'll have to check them out further.

Captain Sensible - Happy Talk (most effortless video ever)
Dead Kennedys - Well Paid Scientist
Beck - Tough F***in' S**t (GG Allin cover)

Nice..  I always liked Captain Sensible's Wot!, and the Captain made me think of one of my favorite German New Wave songs:
ZEITGEIST FEAT. GEORGE KRANZ - Der Kapitän (1983).  rejectamenta, if you like Comets on Fire and all that other heavy stuff, do you like 'sludge', like this: Weedeater - Monkey Junction?

Absolutely! Perfect blend of psychedelia and doom metal a-la Black Sabbath.

Sleep - Jerusalem
Electric Wizard - Vinum Sabbathi

LOL.  It is an annoyingly catchy tune.  I'm listening to Division Bell album - Pink Floyd.

Yea it is. It was on one of my favorite local radio stations. Upon changing it though to another of my favorites, I discovered Gerry Rafferty's Right Down the Line. Suddenly we have gone from the early 80's back to the late 70's. Someone is losing ground here.

It had a lot of good music, but then so did the 80's. I think at present I would give the 1970's a slight edge.

Screaming Lord Sutch - Jack The Ripper
Paul McCartney - "Monkberry Moon Delight"
Screamin' Jay Hawkins - Hong-Kong (Its Hard to be Alone)

The last song is really quite funny.
