Girls at Our Best - Politics! (1980)
Ok I've got to add the lyrics to this one, I really love this song and it is precisely about our subject here on this forum (the chorus I'm sure about cause I got it online, but the latter part I'm not so sure about):
Chorus:
I love to hear the Democrats when they’re partying all night long
love to hear the Sacred Sect when they’re saluting their favourite song
I love to see you smiling when you’re travelling round the world
love to see you smiling when you’re kissing little girls
We want you, we really do, we want you, the chosen few,
It is time, but bear in mind, your looking fine...
You know we've got nothing to lose..
Left-right, left-right, left-right, stomping down all through the night
Left-right, left-right, left-right, Did you get the money right?
(Of course you know what we mean..)
Left-right, left-right, left-right, now I've got you in my sights
We want you, we really do, the chosen few,
Get in line, a silly time, but bear in mind,
You know we've got nothing to lose..
PS, I'm pretty sure the 'sacred sect' must be the Republicans..

I'm surprised I haven't heard of Girls at Our Best until now because of the whole post-punk thing.

Yes, I didn't know the name but I've heard their top two or three songs before and like them a bit. Not my favorite, but not bad. Did you like Girls at Our Best?
Mission of Burma - That's How I Escaped My Certain Fate
Flipper - Ha Ha Ha
Mission Of Burma - Academy Fight Song
Its funny I have to say when I played those I felt like they were from a present-day post-punk revival rather than the original 1980 phenomenon, but apparently they are original.
