Arcade Fire - Rebellion (Lies)

I can't get enough of this song. Seriously, I don't think I've been this excited about a new rock band since a young combo from Seattle brought out this little ditty called Smells Like Teen Spirit...

SNES? I remember those. But funny you should mention that, I actually downloaded the Terrangima ROM the other day, I just haven't got round to playing it yet, given that I have about a zillion other roms to wade through. Besides, I'm not done with Chrono Trigger yet. That last boss is a real mother. But yeah, I'll keep your endorsement in mind.

Ahem. Anyway,

If you like Terranigma, you should check out two other games called Soul Blazer and Illusion of Gaia.  Terranigma is the third in that trilogy (well, sort of a trilogy, given that the games aren't directly related).

Chrono Trigger is very excellent as well. Smiley

Two songs, two unheralded Springsteen gems:

Well, we busted out of class
Had to get away from those fools
We learned more from a three-minute record, baby
Than we ever learned in school
Tonight I hear that neighbourhood drummer sound
I can feel my heart begin to pound
You say you're tired and you just want to close your eyes
And follow your dreams down

Well, we made a promise, swore we'd always remember
No retreat, baby, no surrender
Like soldiers on a winter's night with a vow to defend
No retreat, baby, no surrender

Well now young faces grow sad and old
And hearts of fire grow cold
We swore blood brothers against the wind
I'm ready to grow young again
And hear your sister's voice calling us home
Across the open yard
Maybe we'll find someplace of our own
With these drums and these guitars

Well, we made a promise, swore we'd always remember
No retreat, baby, no surrender
Like soldiers on a winter's night with a vow to defend
No retreat, baby, no surrender

Lay lay lay lay...

Now, on the streets tonight, the light's grow dim
The walls of my room are closing in
There's a war outside still raging
You say it ain't ours anymore to win
I want to sleep beneath the peaceful skies
In my lover's bed
With that wild open country in our eyes
And those romantic dreams in my head

Well, we made a promise, swore we'd always remember
No retreat, baby, no surrender
Like soldiers on a winter's night with a vow to defend
No retreat, baby, no surrender

and:

Well, I came to your house the other day
Your mother said you went away
She said there was nothing that I could have done
There was nothing nobody could say
Me and you, we've known each other ever since we were sixteen
I wished I could have known
I wished I could have called you
Just to say goodbye, Bobby Jean

Now, you hung with me when all the others
Turned away, turned up their nose
We liked the same music, we liked the same bands
We liked the same clothes
We told each other that we were the wildest
The wildest things we'd ever seen
Now I wished you would have told me
I wished I could have talked to you
Just to say goodbye, Bobby Jean

Now, we went walking in the rain, talking
About the pain that from the world we hid
Now there ain't nobody, nowhere, nohow
Gonna ever understand me the way you did
Maybe you'll be out there on that road
Somewhere in some bus or train
Traveling along in some motel room
There'll be a radio playing and you'll hear me sing this song
Well, if you do, you'll know I'm thinking of you
And all the miles in between
And I'm just calling you one last time
Not to change your mind, but just to say I miss you, baby
Good luck, goodbye, Bobby Jean

The Police - Every Breath You Take

I know this is a terrible thing to say but I actually like Puff Daddy's version of that song better. Its called "I'll be Missing You". The Police version is good, just not as good as the remake. I don't like any of Puff Daddy's other songs (thats P Diddy to those of you grew up after the awesome Clinton years).

I actually do miss Howard, yeah.
