One disc.  I wanted the two disc one, but my grandma wouldn't pay for it (she refused to let me pay for anything).  Oh, well...  I want to see the show again sometime.  I'll buy the $50 two disc version the next time. Smiley

I have the movie that recently came out.  It's a great imitation of the show.  I only wish they could have found a better singer/actor to play the Phantom.  He wasn't nearly as hot when he said stupid stuff or couldn't hit high notes like Michael Crawford.

Rin-chan

You should buy the two disc version off amazon.com or from BestBuy. It's probably a bit cheaper there. There's also the one disc Canadian Cast Recording, which has my favorite Christine, Rebecca Caine. Her Think of Me and just whole preformance on a whole is incredible. It also has my second favorite Phantom, Colm Wilkinson. Some don't like it but I love it and like it better than the original at times.

I wasn't a big fan of the film version, I feel that they took out some of the key elements from the musical, mostly the dark, forboding atmosphere and made it somewhat cheap and gaudy. I agree that the cast isn't that good but that's not my main problem, although I do wish that they cast Hugh Jackman as the Phantom in the film (he was approached at one time but had to turn it down), he's got a great voice that could handle the role.

As you may be able to tell, this is a subject that I'm sharp on Wink

Yeah, Les Miserables's good...my favorite's still West Side Story, and I really want to see the Sweeney Todd revival (everyone plays their own instruments).

I just got the revival cast recording for Sweeney Todd. I haven't gotten a chance to listen to it yet though.
