I think not!  However, here is the article:

"Bin Laden Warns of Attacks, Offers Truce"

CAIRO, Egypt - Al-Jazeera on Thursday aired an audiotape purportedly from Osama bin Laden, who says al-Qaida is making preparations for attacks in the United States but offering a truce "with fair conditions." The tape's release came days after a U.S. airstrike in Pakistan that was targeting bin Laden's deputy, Ayman al-Zawahri, and reportedly killed four leading al-Qaida figures, including possibly al-Zawahri's son-in-law. There was no mention of the attack on the segments that were broadcast.

This is where the U.S. military needs to be focused on, hunting down Osama Bin Ladin and destroying the Al-Qaeda network throughout the world.

Pakistan is reporting that four top Al-Qaeda members were recently killed in a US bombing...and something tells me the US military was not focusing on finding Elvis!

Yes but the problem is that those 4 will be quickly replaced if they haven't already.

Bin Laden is afraid.

Last week, some of the members his inner circle are killed.

No attacks have been launched; he's not saying, "See what I can do if you don't accept."  That's not an offering from strength.

You can't just replace leaders like parts on a bicycle.  When leaders are taken out of the picture, it disrupts the whole structure of a group.  Not only that, but the people who replace them are generally not a good at getting their job done than those who came before them.  That's why they were lower to start out with.  Now killing Joe el Allah is not really effective, because the lower foot slidiers can always be replaced with people equally as stupid.

I agree - all his previous tapes were "Get out of the Middle East OR ELSE". Now it's "Get out of the Middle East and there can be peace between us".

The really scary part is that I can actually think like this guy (and we dress alike).

It's an election year. He's just trying to help out his pal Bush.

Bingo. Bin Laden is cleverly playing the guilt-by-association card again.

Both of you need to really think about what you just said. First of all, why would they release it now? why not later in the cycle? Second of all, we just blew the sh**t out of four of his men, he's probably just pissed.

i think he is dead.  why is there never an allusion to something that recent.?  there is probably a whole library of these tapes out there and every time the al qeada higher ups say so, they send one of the archived tapes to al jazerra.  wouldnt bin laden want to prove he was alive?  why only an audio tape?

Funny how everyone's mind will be on terror just in time for Bush's scaremongering SOTU.

January isn't exactly a great time to influence November elections.

It is questionable as to why we haven't seen a video of him.  Is he that disabled to be seen?

That's one possibility; he is in such bad shape that being seen would be counter productive.

Two others:

1.  His ability to produce tapes is so degraded that he can't make them.

2.  He's changed his appearance.
