Dear all Nym voters,

With the new preferential voting amendment that has been passed, we now face a new decision: who will be our second choice?

Although Gustaf may agree with us more fundamentally than Reaganfan and PBrunsel, Gustaf in power will be dangerous to our forum for many reasons.

The first of those reasons is for the excessive power he would gain.  He is also forum moderator, and could become a dictator if he so chose.  Even if he did not take this course of action, he could legislate freely with the soon-to-be UAC dominated congress.

Don't vote for Reaganfan and PBrunsel because you like them; vote for them because it is the best strategic move.  Reaganfan running for re-election would be VERY beatable. Gustaf would not; he would just accelerate the UAC-trend that is going through this forum.

So remember: Nym90/Al first, Reaganfan/PBrunsel second.  (And I encourage Reaganfan supporters to put Nym90 as their second choice for reasons aforementioned.)

Sincerely,
David Holland

Ah, I was waiting for you to say something along these lines Tweedy Pie.

I don't see why people should vote strategically rather than vote for who they believe in. Besides, if gustaf wins an outright majority, those second votes won't mean much.

Nah. Gustaf wouldn't stay popular for long as president. He'll probably recreate the two-party system in no time at all.

Actually, I am a rather good strategist, I just don't think strategic voting in an election is a good thing. Nor, do I think you telling people how to vote is good.

Listen:

Gustaf would be re-elected easily.
Reaganfan would not.

If you want a shot at the white house in October, vote Reaganfan at the bottom of your ticket.

No, I prefer not to tell people how to vote as it is undemocratic.

Well, I guess we have to hope that the Democrats vote their conscience. It really is odd to me that you think Gustaf would be a "dangerous" president when he's already said he'd give the forum moderator position to someone else if elected.

I'm not telling.  I am urging an encouraging.

Even the Boss can't control how people vote.  Not directly, at least.

I must say thats one of the most brillant things you've ever said Josh!

Vote for the two people you think will be the best... Don't vote to be told what to do. Which is what you'd be doing by listening to tweed

But who is to say that Reaganfan won't be beaten by Gustaf in October....or worse, Wildcard or John Ford?

I don't have a problem with strategic voting...but voting for someone because you think they will be weaker in the next election is over my head.

I would prefer that we never have a Republican President, and will not cast a vote that will make this likely.

They aren't, there is still a Democratic party separate from the United Left. They are more the new Progressive party.
