Nay (R)

The bill is unconstitutional and violates federalist principles.

It does, which is why I voted Yes.  I had a cousin who had to have a late-stage abortion since her heart couldn't handle the pregnancy.  Ended up having to have a pace maker installed a few months later.

Nay. This bill is just political posturing, it does not effect any common procedure. Of course the religious right seems to believe that there are women out there that get pregnant, decide to carry it for 7 months, and then go get an abortion that late just for kicks instead of getting an earlier abortion or using other birth control methods, but statistics show that's not the case.

No. This bill violates individual freedom, principles of federalism, and the Constitution.

Would all you 'Democrats' who voted 'aye' on this poll please change your avatar to Religious Party immediately?

If you feel so out of place in the Democratic Party with your social views so far to the left they're practically falling off the edge, perhaps you should adopt this avatar instead:

I could easily reiterate my line about replacing the democratic and republican parties with multiple parties that have narrower scope, or removing parties all together, but in this case, there is no party which Opie would align with at the moment, so he should just become an independent and stop giving the democrats a bad name.  hehehe

I oppose this bill because it violates individual and privacy rights and is seen as a step towards outlawing more abortions.

Furthermore, "partial birth" abortions are rarely done when they are not medically necessary.
