The Aussie wheat board is in the poop for Iraq stuff. Norm Coleman isn't happy. The Aussie government is getting involved now.

Still, there was a nice quip in this whole thing somewhere about elected judges. I'll try and find it.

Despite my dislike for Howard, I don't think he knew. Vaile, possibly; Downer, probably. DFAT, certainly.

Another Iraq scandal Roll Eyes
It'd be nice if Howard was involved (but, yeah, I doubt it as well).

I've said it before and I'll say it again-when the Cabinet documents come out in 30 years, Howard is going to look very very very bad. That is if he doesn't shred everything first (a la Kennett).

Looking forward for 19 or so years from now then Wink
I've got the same suspicion about Thatcher (and there's but four or so years to wait 'til the first installment... best stuff will come in about eight years or so though...)

If it's anything like here, than it's certainly illegal to shred incriminating documents ... the problem is with proving that that's what they were after they've been shredded.

Kohl's chancellor office did it in 1998 (not shred everything - shred everything on a couple of select topics), and noone was punished IIRC, although the possibility loomed pretty large for a while.

what do you reckon?

I think it might be something like the German law, I suppose.
