Looking ahead to the next 50 years, which of the following will be or most likely to be recriminalised or made illegal (a loose term I admit) in most western nations?

Although in the US abortion will be chipped at and trade unions will evaporate.

None of these, but of the choices presented, the most likely would be abortion and, to a lesser extent, homosexuality.

Abortion will be more restricted.  Trade- union membership is already declining but will never be made illegal.  The rest I cant see being made illegal.

The only one I'd give any chance is abortion, and that's looking to be up to the states.

Tobacco could very well join the war on drugs and I could see Europe becoming alarmed at its demographic decline going into an anti-abortion stance in 50 years.

Probably none will be criminalized, but abortion may be more restricted, and may lose its status as a declared constitutional right.

Tobacco is unlikely to be criminalized, but tobacco users will probably continue to be singled out for poor treatment through things like exhorbitant taxes.  I hate smoking, but it always strikes me funny that the same people who want to persecute tobacco users are apologists for those who use harder drugs.  It makes no sense, if one looks at the problems caused for society by smokers as compared to, say, crack addicts.

None... society needs to change to get rid of abortion.  It probably won't ever be done legally, cause it is too hot botton, and most people don't understand that facts of the issue.  For instance, eliminating all abortion after the first trimester seems like a popular idea in polls, but people favor Roe v. Wade in those same polls.  Idiots.

Alcohol is already more criminalized than freely available, with regulations on the age of consumption, the time of day purchase is allowed, and very strict regulation of 'liquor licenses' for bars.

I for one is outraged at the existence of a bar closing law.  How can anyone call the US a 'free country'?

Hopefully abortion (except in cases or rape/incest and if the mother's life is in danger) and gay marraige (I voted homosexuality but it shouldn't be illegal, it's unnatural but not something to make illegal).

None, though I suppose some will be criminalised in certain states.

None of the above.  Although it may be perfectly reasonable to return it to the states with a few regulations included.

Abortion and Tobacco

I'd add trade unions but they seem to be dying out without any official ban by governments Sad
