Though the fact that you made this thread, and the fact that you think the whips did a good job (which considering the significant majority Labour have, should not have been very difficult), surely indicates that the position of the Blair lead government is something short of solid.

Nah, not really (Labour backbenchers are traditionally hell to Whip; the '90's were the exception, not the rule). More a case of the current leadership not being very popular with the backbenchers.
