Thats good news, although it a shame that a young person would be homophobic.

Its also good to see that his remarks were condemned, since in the US Republicans consider it good politics to demonize gays (i.e. Anything Tom Coburn has ever said, Trent Lott saying we suffered from a treatable condition like kleptomania, Dick Armey calling gay Rep Barney Frank "Barney Fag". And for a more recent example, Santorum's man-on-dog remark in 2003)

It's unfortunate that such comments were made, but I think the party made the right decision. While some may see it as a 'witchunt' if any candidate makes racist, homophobic or other bigoted comments without any basis for doing so, then they are not fit for public office.

Hear that George Galloway?
