I would like to bring a lawsuit to have the Supreme Court rule on the issue of whether a vote for a single candidate should be interpreted as a vote for a ticket.

Once this election has been certified, I will be suing the current SoFA for his actions relating to his understanding of the law.  I will present relevant statute soon.

Another part of law which needs to be clarified, imho.

Anything else I should include in this lawsuit as well?

Nothing else comes to mind at this moment, except jfern's issue.

Buckwheat's vote is going to produce an interesting turn of events.  He registered on Dec. 11, therefore he couldn't vote in the Dec. federal elections.  However, he couldn't vote in the Feb. elections because he didn't have 25 posts in the last 56 days.  I guess this means that his voter name stays on the rolls as a new voter, per Article V, Section 2, Clause 6.

Okay, we will hear this case and arguments from both sides. Now that we have a certification, what is the specific claim being made?

I ask that this case be dismissed because I don't think I can sue myself, especially as I didn't certify the results.

Okay. I was wondering how that was going to work. For the future, the Senate and President should still consider whether the points of law in the matter are sufficiently clear, and act accordingly.

Without a plantiff, the case is dismissed.

For future elections, this case should really be brought, though I realize it would affect the election now.  I don't have jurisdiction to bring anything, though.

Or maybe the Senate can just pass a law clarifying this in the next session, though I'm as usual not hopeful on that.

If not, we'll face this same problem four months hence, fyi.

Right.  This was what I was hoping for.  It's probably better to have the Senate to take action than to leave it up to the courts.  As I promised in the VP debates, improving our election laws (making them more clear and also more lenient) will be my top priority.
